National Botanic Gardens Dublin

The National Botanic Gardens Dublin are a tranquil and beautiful sanctuary about 3 kilometers from the city centre in Glasnevin. The gardens are free to enter, so visitors can enjoy the beautiful surroundings whenever they choose. The National Herbarium, as well as various old wrought iron glasshouses, make the gardens a premier scientific institution.

The National Botanic Gardens in Dublin is home to around 15,000 plant species and cultivars from all over the world. The National Botanic Gardens Dublin has a number of beautifully renovated and planted glasshouses. The Turner Curvilinear Range and the Great Palm House, in fact, got the Europa Nostra award for conservation architecture excellence.

The gardens have numerous gorgeous elements, and visitors can spend hours simply roaming about and taking in the scenery. The alpine yard, rose gardens, and herbaceous borders are just a few of the attractions. Visitors can also enjoy the pond area, rock garden, and arboretum.

Conservation is extremely vital to the botanic garden’s survival. Glasnevin is home to almost 300 endangered plant species from all over the world, including six that have already become extinct in the wild. We would not be able to appreciate so many of these rare species if it weren’t for the hard work and devotion of individuals associated with conservation programs.

Car parking at National Botanic Gardens Dublin is available for a small fee. This is one of Dublin’s attractions not to be missed!
